Research does not begin with a sector. It begins with an observation that has to survive evidence.
An observation can stay unassigned. A relation can stay a candidate. A hypothesis carries its predictions, its confounders and at least one way it could lose.

Reconstruction
A rule that cannot lose is not knowledge. Each pattern object carries the context it was found in, the mechanisms that compete to explain it, the observations that contradict it, and an expiry — because a pattern that stops being tested stops being true quietly.
